We are opening our 9th regional office in Northwest province with the regional head office based in Potchefstroom. TAKE NOTE. There are three positions available: Northwest Regional Manager/Social Worker, Office Administrator and a Social Auxiliary Worker.

Northwest Social Auxiliary Worker (5 Mornings per week position):

Qualifications are subject to the following requirements, responsibilities and advantages:

Department of Social Development-linked salary: R4500 (3-month probation to yearly contract)

To start: May 2025

Awareness:

Assisting community workers with creating awareness of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease in the community through:

  • Community talks, clinic talks and talks at schools. Radio talks.
  • Door to door campaigns.
  • Home visits to assist families of people living with dementia.
  • Linking families with Health care practitioners.
  • Establishing and facilitating support groups for carers.
  • Training of home-based carers on dementia.
  • Supporting the social worker with training events and fundraising events.

Administration:

  • Keeping a logbook.
  • Doing process notes.
  • Monthly stats.
  • Drivers license will be a bonus.
  • Previous work with the elderly will be an advantage.
  • Training on dementia will be provided.
